Musical musings for May

Music has been a little bit more prominent in my life this month, which I think is partially due to having no cable for the first week of May. More so, it is no longer a luxury to be able to randomly play music throughout the whole apartment. This is something I was always quite fond of doing back home in Australia. Hence why I have already purchased a stack of new songs from iTunes this month. Below is the random mix of music making its way into my head one lyrical sentence at a time:
  1. By Now - Marianas Trench
  2. Wild Ones (feat. Sia) - Flo Rida
  3. When We Stand Together - Nickelback
  4. Shake It Out - Florence + The Machine
  5. Good Girl - Carrie Underwood
  6. Over - Blake Shelton
  7. Reckless One - Sunday Lane
  8. Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa) - Maroon 5
  9. The Trouble With Girls - Scotty McCreery
  10. How Will I Know - Whitney Houston
Television once more has been a dominant influence with Shake It Out and How Will I Know recently covered on Glee. Hart of Dixie, which just got renewed for a second season, is responsible for the Scott McCreery number and he actually performed it himself in the episode. Of course my little attachment to The Voice had to have some sort of side effect, which is why I have both Maroon 5 and Blake Shelton featuring this month. Living in Canada means I have had more exposure to Canadian artists and I have a feeling they will constantly be on my musical musings each month for the foreseeable future. However, the big one to note is Carrie Underwood because I will be going to her October concert. I am very excited about this and she will definitely be popping up a lot on my playlists before then.
