Instead of using milk chocolate I used semi-sweet chocolate, as this is what I had to hand. I also had to improvise when melting the chocolate because I don't have either a microwave or a suitable bowl to put on top of a saucepan. I melted the chocolate and extra butter together over low heat, constantly whisking and hoping it didn't burn or anything. It turned out perfectly, which I was very happy about.
Everything about the finished mars bar slice stirred up memories from my childhood, which was nice considering yesterday was Mother's Day!
