A good read indeed
For me, reading doesn’t always have to involve a bestselling novel or one of the classics. I also like to get my fix through magazines. When it comes to magazines, I used to readily purchase and consume ones that contained celebrity gossip. However, now I sporadically get my dose of gossip through the People magazine subscription we have at work for our reception area. I have never really been a fan of the more popular and established fashion magazines as I find it a little bit disheartening to flip through dozens of pages of advertisements for items I could never afford just to get to the contents page. I know that these magazines are reputable and quite often have very interesting and relevant articles, but I also know that they are not for me. Instead I have pledged my allegiance and loyalty to two magazines quite similar in content, People StyleWatch, an American publication, and LouLou, a Canadian one. Not only are they filled with fashion and style tips, but their suggestions and products cater to the more modest earners as well. I find that the magazines contain a wealth of useful information and are a great tool to refer back to time and time again for ideas on areas such as make-up application, how to coordinate your outfit and season must-haves. I must admit I get a little thrill every month around the time I know these magazines will be adorning the shelves of my local Chapters store. I simply cannot wait to absorb all the information they contain. For some people this thrill is experienced via the arrival of the magazine of choice into their letterbox, but for me it involves the imaginary ringing of the register as my purchase is made. It is no surprise then that for the month of September I have already acquired and devoured the latest LouLou magazine and eagerly await the same fate for the People StyleWatch one.
